LegalWise South Africa appoints a new non-Executive Director, Ms Deborah Mutemwa-Tumbo.

Deborah holds an LLB, LLM (cum laude) and is a practising attorney, executive chair-woman and a proud mum of two. At present Deborah serves as an independent non-executive director on the Boards of NewGold (RF) Limited, Habib Overseas Bank Limited, and Absa Home Loans.

On her appointment, Ms Deborah Mutenwa-Tumbo said, "LegalWise is the pioneer in South Africa's legal insurance industry with a demonstrated commitment to improving access to justice in the country. I am inspired by the company's past achievements and future ambitions, and I sincerely look forward to serving on the board.”

In June 2021, Deborah was featured in Forbes Africa’s top 30 under 30 list for entrepreneurship in the legal industry. In September 2019, she received recognition from the international community as a nominee for the Mary Chirwa Award for Courageous Leadership and was honoured at the awards ceremony held at the Peace Palace in the Hague, Netherlands.
