Siva Gengan is the Chief Executive Officer of LegalWise South Africa (RF) (Pty) Ltd. She is a high-performance Management Professional with over 25 years’ experience in the insurance sector. She holds a B Proc; LLB and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance and Compliance. She is an Attorney, Conveyancer, Notary Public and Certified Director. Siva is passionate about access to justice having made several submissions on the Legal Practice Act during her tenure as Company Legal Counsel which were accepted into law, the success of which she attributes in part to adapting proven business principles to the practice of law. Her involvement as the Company representative on SAIA’ s Micro-insurance Committee resulted in legal expenses products being recognised as an Access Product. Having cut her teeth across various layers of management structures, Siva has extensive experience in leading diverse teams. She advocates the digitisation of the law to ensure affordable access to justice and is currently embedding this during her tenure as CEO. Presently, Siva serves on the General Council of Legal Protection International, a global body of legal protection insurers, on the Boards of Legal Expenses Southern Africa Pty Ltd and LegalWise South Africa Pty Ltd and is a Member of the Institute of Directors South Africa.
