Be a #CyberHero Quiz – June 2020

  1. The Promoter is LegalWise South Africa (Pty) LTD t/a LegalWise (“the Promoter”) with Registration number 1999/003661/07, a company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa and having its registered address at Block B, Constantia Ridge Office Park, 231 Panorama Drive, Constantia Kloof, Roodepoort, 1709.

  1. The be a #CyberHero Quiz Competition (“the Competition”) is open to any resident of South Africa  (LegalWise Member and non-Member) who is a valid and active WhatsApp user.

  1. The following persons are excluded from entering the Competition: Directors, members, partners, employees, agents OR consultants of the Promoter or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the Promoter, its marketing service providers in respect of the Competition, or the spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members of the aforementioned.

  1. The Competition runs from 12h00 on Wednesday, 1 July 2020 until 12h00 on Friday, 31 July 2020.
    1. The Promoter will have daily posts relating to the Competition across the Promoter’s accounts on Twitter, Facebook, Google and YouTube inviting users to voluntarily click on the WhatsApp link to enter the Competition.
    2. The Competition will consist of one (1) quiz including three (3) questions related to cyberbullying law. Entrants will be expected to answer at least one (1) of the three (3) questions correctly for a chance to win the Instant R10 airtime, should the Entrant answer all three (3) questions correctly they go into a draw for the big prize as per clause 4.4.
    3. All three questions will be available from Wednesday, 1 July 2020 at 12h00 on the LegalWise WhatsApp number (which can be accessed by clicking on the WhatsApp link on any of the platforms mentioned in clause 4.1) and users would be able to start participating in the Competition.
    4. There will be an overall of 700 random winners for the duration of the Competition winning R10 airtime and winners will be drawn daily by a Win-Engine. The airtime voucher will be issued to the winner’s mobile number as it appears on WhatsApp (should you not receive your prize allocation please email Support@yonder.co.za and someone will contact you to assist within 24 working hours. Please note that Support is available from Monday to Fridays between 9am-5pm).  A single Winner of the big overall prize (A Samsung Galaxy TAB E 9.6 worth R3 000) will be randomly drawn by a Win-Engine on 31 July 2020 and the Winner will be contacted telephonically on the cellphone number as it appears on WhatsApp by the Promoter on 3 August 2020.

  1. To enter the Competition and stand a chance to win the prizes as set out in clause 7 below, an Entrant:   
    1. Must be a South African resident.
    2. Must willingly enter the Competition
    3. If younger than 18 years of age, you must be fully assisted by his/her parent or legal guardian, who approves of and consents to the Entrant’s participation in the Competition and the Entrant’s receipt/possession of the prize.
    4. Must be a valid and active WhatsApp user (and use the same mobile number to receive the prizes).
    5. Must visit the LegalWise WhatsApp bot to access the Be a #CyberHero Quiz Competition, the link to the bot will be promoted via LegalWise pages on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Google and the Entrant will be directed to the LegalWise WhatsApp bot for participation in the Competition.
    6. Once on the LegalWise WhatsApp bot, Entrants will have to answer three (3) cyberbullying law related questions to stand a chance of winning prizes as set out in clause 7 below.
    7. Random Instant R10 airtime prizes can be won for each correctly answered question.
    8. If all three questions are answered correctly, the Entrant will stand a chance to win an overall big prize at the end of the Competition.
    9. Incorrect answers from the three questions will not be considered as a valid entry and will not be eligible to win any of the prizes.
    10. Entrants will only be allowed to enter the Competition once (1), should an Entrant exit the Competition before completing all three (3) questions, they will be allowed to come back later to complete the Competition. However, if an Entrant has previously entered the Competition they will not be allowed to enter again.
    11. All Entrants will have a chance during the Competition’s journey on WhatsApp (whether they have answered the three (3) questions correctly or not) to share the Competition with friends or family to stand a chance to win the overall big prize (refer to clause 7 below). Referrals will be made from the WhatsApp platform by the Entrant by entering the friend or family’s cellphone number. The referred will then receive an SMS inviting them to play the Competition. The Entrant confirms that they received consent from the friend or family to use their personal information and that the Promoter will not be liable for any damages that may occur for whatsoever reason.

  1. The Promoter reserves the right to remove any inappropriate/unsuitable content submitted for the Be a #CyberHero quiz Competition.

  1. Winners and Prize
    1. The Win-Engine will randomly select Instant winners from the correct answers received from the three (3) quiz questions, the Win-Engine will further select an overall big prize winner from Entrants who answered all three quiz questions correctly or those Entrants who referred their friends or family to play the competition. The 700 in total Instant prize winners (R10 airtime) will be drawn at random times of the day over the duration of the Competition, whilst the big prize will be randomly drawn from the qualifying Entrants on 31 July 2020 after 12H00 when the competition closes.
    2. The Instant Competition prize is R10 worth of airtime which will be automatically loaded to the winner’s mobile number as it appears on WhatsApp. Pre-paid users will immediately receive their airtime added to their mobile number.
    3. Contract users who cannot receive airtime, will have the option to share the airtime voucher with their friends or family.
    4. The Instant airtime prizes will be drawn randomly by the Win-Engine and the prize automatically loaded to the winner’s mobile number as it appears on WhatsApp. Not all correct answers qualify to win the daily prize.
    5. The big prize will be drawn randomly by the Win-Engine on 31 July 2020 and only those who answered all 3 questions correctly or those who refer the Competition to their friends or family will stand a chance to win the prize. Should the referred people complete the Quiz the referrer will receive an entry into the big draw. Entrants can refer up to 10 friends maximum and can therefore earn 10 entries into the big draw if the referred friends complete the quiz.
    6. The Winner (1) of the big prize will receive a Samsung Galaxy TAB E 9.6  worth R3 000. The prize is ideal for students or employees who may require remote access to work, particularly during these times of the COVID-19. The winner will be notified on Monday, 3 August 2020. Should the Promoter be unable to get hold of the Winner within 48 hours from the time of draw, the Winner will forfeit the prize and a new Winner will be randomly selected.

  1. The Prizes cannot be exchanged for money, but can be shared/passed on to a friend or family member.

  1. All risks in the prizes will pass to the Winner upon notification of having won.

  1. The Promoter shall have the right to terminate the Competition immediately and without notice for any reason beyond its control. In the event of such termination, all Entrants agree to waive any rights that they may have in terms of this Competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter, its agents and/or staff.

  1. Participation in this Competition constitutes acceptance of the Competition’s rules and the Entrants agree to abide by these rules as set out herein.

  1. Except insofar as is provided for in the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into after the Competition’s closing date.

  1. By participating in the Competition, each Entrant consents to the transfer, storage and processing of their public and personal data in South Africa, which consent may be withdrawn at any time by written notification to the Promoter.

  1. The Promoter will keep the Entrants’ personal information (mobile number) to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by applicable laws or regulations. The Promoter will not use any of the personal information collected for a different purpose without first obtaining the data subject’s permission. The Promoter will not provide unauthorised third parties with the personal information collected during the Competition.

  1. All Entries become the property of the Promoter.

  1. By entering this Competition, the Entrants agree that the Promoter may contact them at any time during, or after, the Competition’s closing date, whereas the Winner/s may opt out from receiving such communication at any time.

  1. All Entrants indemnify the Promoter, its advertising agencies, advisers, suppliers, and nominated agents against any and all claims, damages or losses resulting from their participation in this Competition, arising from negligent acts or omissions of The Promoter.

  1. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries.

  1. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or telephone lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to Entrant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this Competition or downloading any materials in this Competition.

  1. If required by the Minister of Trade and Industry, the National Consumer Commission or National Consumer Tribunal, or for any other reason whatsoever, the Promoter will be entitled to terminate the Competition immediately without any notice to the Entrants. In such an event all Participants hereby waive any rights which they may have against the Promoter.

  1. This Competition is in no way organised-, endorsed- or administered by, or associated with Facebook or Twitter or any other social media forum.
